If you are usually using Face ID or Touch ID to log in to the app, it’s easy to forget the password. If you are still able to open the app with Face ID or Touch ID, you can create a new password under the Settings in your S-pushTAN-App without any need for the old password:
Open the S-pushTAN-App and go to -> Profile -> Settings -> Change password
Please make sure to reset the S-pushTAN-App before you start.
A newly installed or reset S-pushTAN-App
Before you start, you will have to reset your S-pushTAN-App. Please note that the procedures for doing so for Android devices and iPhones/iPads are different.
Sparkassen-Card (debit card) – card number
If you are setting up the app a repeat time, you will be asked to enter your card number. This is why it is important to have your Sparkassen-Card (debit card) to hand. The card number is on the back of the card.
Online banking login details
To use pushTAN, you will need your Sparkasse online banking login details: Your username or login ID and your online banking PIN.
Activation password and credit card number
Haven’t yet registered for online banking? If so, you can also set up the S-pushTAN-App with your activation password and credit card. The activation password is in the letter sent to you with the initial registration letter for the S-pushTAN-App.
If you have forgotten your password for the S-pushTAN-App, you will need to set up the app again. Luckily, that’s really easy. The only thing to bear in mind is that this works differently for Android and iPhones. To proceed, please follow the instructions below.
Note: These instructions are an example only and may slightly differ depending on your mobile end device or bank.
The S-pushTAN-App is a free banking app for securely authorising payments on your smartphone or tablet. pushTAN authentication can be used for both mobile banking apps, such as the Sparkassen-App, and for online banking and banking software applications.

1 Huawei has developed its own Android app store – the Huawei AppGallery – for its latest and future devices. Apps for Huawei devices released before 9. November 2019 can still be downloaded from the Google Play Store. For newer devices (e.g. the Mate-30 and P40 series), this is no longer possible. These devices are not set up for downloading and using the Sparkassen-App. At present, Huawei and the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe are in talks to find out whether and how the Sparkassen-App could be distributed through Huawei’s AppGallery. We will let you know on this page as soon as we know the date from which this will be possible.
